Anybody own or at least tried out one of the Gibson G-Bird guitars?

Seems like a decent price for a U.S. made Gibson. Spruce top, solid walnut back and sides. Cool inlay on the fretboard. Shorter scale like a Hummingbird.

Have played one. It was underwhelming, much like the G45, but even more so because of the higher price tag.

In my experience, all Gibson's are underwhelming at the store when new. You have to tweak them, but when you get them right, it's hard to beat them

In terms of acoustics, it seems that more Gibsons are being played on stage than any of the others. Martin seems to be a distant second. There is obviously a reason why they are preferred by so many touring artists. I’m a Martin guy, and I had to borrow a Gibson from a friend once, and I really enjoyed playing it.
I noticed some companies are experimenting with that second sound hole. I’ve never played one, but I understand it serves the same purpose as a monitor when you are jamming unplugged.
$1799 seems to be a low price.

Martins and Gibsons, I love them both. With a Martin, you almost know how it's going to sound, even before you pick it up. The Gibsons can have some surprises sometimes. I'm going to try one out soon. If I get one, it will be the most expensive guitar I've ever owned.
