152 innings in using 44 straight scoreless innings and much set of tools for the entire season. Skenes until the last couple weeks he said he didn’t have the feel for his change and was inconsistent for his breaking ball. He has that 2 seam run.
NOLA had elite command with all his pitches didn’t have the velo. McDonald’s velo was close to if not over 100. 97 then is 2-4 mph faster from not having Trackman.
Ben’s breaking ball was a filthy spiked curve. I impeded Ben in high school and he was tossing 95 then and was just unbelievable with his command of his breaking pitches.
Skenes is right there with him. Ben just had so much more work. Go look at his ERA in 1989 before the tournament. I’ll save you the time. It was 1.44. Skip was an idiot and wore Ben out.

Ben is humble. Of course he’ll say that. I umped Ben and Greg Patterson and Stan Loewer all in HS. Ben was close to Josh Beckett than anyone else I saw in HS.
