Had a coworker tell me she couldn't eat at a restaurant because they "might use MSG and that would give me a migraine"

Your laughter displays your ignorance. While MSG does not cause migraines in average people, it is one of the key triggers for those who suffer from complex migraines, which are not simply headaches. I do agree that MSG is improperly demonized as some form of poison, but it is poison for those who have an aversion to it.
If your coworker does indeed suffer from migraines then she is smart to avoid MSG.
