Insurance covering $1,000 a month (IN PERPETUITY - because everyone is going to regain their weight when they come off so they will have to stay on it) is not cheaper than covering an ER heart attack / stroke visit in 15 years.
Not sure why the downvotes. This is accurate. Average cost of health insurance premium is $400-$600 a month per. Cost of Wegovy $1300.00, Mounjaro $1100.00 per month.
Over 70% of adult Americans are overweight/obese.
The 4-5 manufacturers making the products are selling them as fast as they can make them even while adding production lines for complete retail price. They have no reason to reduce the cost for the time being since the market price is set and they all have probably 10 years or so left on their patents.
