I think the demise of the SBC is very overstated on this board, FWIW. That's not to say the SBC isn't trending poorly, but it's really nowhere close to TEC, UMC or PCUSA. And I'm not SBC (or Baptist).

TEC, UMC. and PCUSA all promote genuine wokeness as national org policy (think promoting trans celebrations, etc.) and likely each have hundreds or thousands of churches that outwardly support abortion, gay marriage, the transgender movement, BLM, etc.

To their credit, there is none of that in the SBC at a meaningful level. When people talk about the SBC being woke they're being really inside baseball about it, it's all on niche issues and turf wars. It may lead to full blown wokeness at some point, but they're a long way off from deserving to be lumped in with UMC, etc.
