Doesn’t matter. It’s likely that there is going to be a game or two in Omaha in which our bats aren’t completely on. We’re going to have to figure out how to score runs, especially if it’s a game in which Skenes isn’t starting.

You aren’t going to start stealing bases with a lineup made up of predominantly bigger guys. White, Belaso, Jones, Catcher (Trevinski or Millazo). Morgan had bulked up. Dugas is bunged up.
Crews, Thompson and maybe one of the RFers could steal some, but they have to get on some.

People are overreacting to the weekend. Saturday not it wasn’t the stolen base we needed We had the bases loaded and multiple runners on a lot. Today losing 6-1 in the first isn’t time to steal either.

If we get to Omaha and it’s a close game, I think JJ might let Crews or Thompson run, but it will be at the right spot.

The last two Sat-Sun combined:

33.1 IP
32 ER
30 BB
5 HBP

That was against two mid-bottom tier SEC offenses. The hitting, as it had cooled, will not be able to outhit pitching lines like this against better teams.

That’s not even taking into account the runners allowed on base & allowed to advance on the bases by bad defense.

Not one person here is trying to say that these guys should be stealing bases.

The post is about this year as a whole, not just this weekend.
