I've played a lot of the courses mentioned so far. My thoughts:
Bobby Jones GC - fun little 9-holes close to downtown. There is also the Charlie Yates 9-hole course that East Lake supports (it is across the street from E Lake) for another quick golf outing option.
Chateau Elan - worth the drive out there; 2 different 18s and a 9 hole par 3 that is basically a pitch and put; also has a winery, bourbon house, and Irish pub associated with the property.
Cherokee Run in Conyers - think it trys to be mostly private; not worth the public green fees IMHO
Cobblestone - interesting, tight course that is partly exposed to a small reservoir/lake that makes for some nice views and tough par 3s.
The Frog - bit of a drive but nice course.
Stone Mountain - heard good things.
