gradually we have allowed them to define the confederate flag as akin to calling a black person the n-word.
BOTH of these things are protected free speech, mind you, but it is generally accepted that using the n-word is across the board culturally unacceptable. however, the fact that it is now akin to a hate crime just to fly, wear, or own a confederate flag is disturbing.
