I don’t understand the point being made here. They’re saying roughing the passer started getting called more when black quarterbacks started getting drafted? And they’re insinuating that’s a bad thing?

Someone help me out here.

I started to post your same comment.

So they are supposedly worried about black quarterbacks being the face of the league, and insinuate future rule changes to prevent/stall this from happening, but as evidence use a shift in rule enforcement that benefits all quarterbacks including black ones?

Yea, this is how I interpreted it as well, so i don't get it either.

Aren't the running QBs of the past, on average sacked more than non running QBs? If that's the case, stricter roughing penalties would have helped the black QBs(assuming those are the running QBs, which of course is a pretty good assumption) more than it would help the white QBs, so I have no clue how that example is used as evidence to show that a rule change against black QBs is coming.

Why is everything about race ? Who cares if there are 16 black starting quarterbacks ? Is there suppose to be a quota in sports leagues ? Just give me the best athletes at each position.
