Not drafted but got free agent deals. What's the difference moneywise in free agent and last round picks? Will free agents actually land on a team? I would love to see Jenkins doing some end zone celebrations.

Being a free agent can actually be better than getting drafted in the 7th.
You can choose a spot and have more say in the outcome

Free agents have just as good a shot to make roster as 6th or 7th rounders
Free agents are basically getting paid to come try out and participate in otas and work out all offseason hoping to be invited to training camp
As a free agent it’s a little easier to find a team that needs your specific skill set or where depth is at a premium
For example if you are a TE I would look hard at the saints

Whether you go in the 6th 7th or are a UDFA, you still have to prove you belong.
Upside to UDFA is that you get to choose your team and look for a team where you think you have the best chance to stick at your position.

Most players prefer to be udfa than 6th or 7th rd pick. You can pick your team and sign for anything you want

The difference is the amount of guaranteed money. UDFAs often get little if any guaranteed.

The market has gotten more competitive in recent years. The guarantees go up each year for UDFAs and it’s fairly common no for UDFAs to get the same signing bonus and guarantees as the late round picks do.
Couple guys this year got over 200k in guarantees and a nice signing bonus
