It’s a useless position to invest anything in
It meant plenty this season. They don't make the playoff and don't win the playoff games they did without Barkley. After 5 years he gets franchised. The same for Josh Jacobs in Las Vegas. Teams don't franchise tag useless positions.

They made the playoffs and beat the Vikings because Daniel Jones made a big step forward, not because of anything Barkley did. Hell, Barkley only had 9 carries in that game against the Vikings.
