I got our sale ads yesterday and commented how cheap everything seemed for the first time in quite a while

FWIW walmart parsley is like $0.70.

I'm not a poor man but I've grown more frugal with age. Weekly ads pretty much dictate what I am going to eat for the week. Albertson's has chicken thighs for .77 / lb. I will be clucking by next Friday.

I'll assume that is for a bundle of fresh parsley in the produce section. What the OP was referring to is a container of dried parsley. I grow and dry some of my own herbs and to get a container of dried parsley, you'd have to buy at least a dozen or so bundles of fresh.

They lose volume when dried and crushed.
