Just a hunch, but I'm guessing the "bigotry and hatred" from patrons was rather innocuous.

"Looks like no one is drinking Bud Light anymore."

"Ain't that some bullshite?"

"Yeah, frick Bud Light."

Then a straight white progressive bartender overheard such conversations, got her panties twisted, and complained to management.

almost certainly. "hate speech" to these people is literally just political or cultural speech they disagree with.
