Weekend trip ideas from Baton Rouge

I want to take my girlfriend on a Fri-Sun trip. I'm good with going any direction, but would rather not go to New Orleans. We are not gamblers, so casinos are not enticing. Thanks for any suggestions.

West - Houston - eat your way through the city - maybe go on a local brewery tour crawl and combine with an Astros game or check the local concert schedule.
East - Florida Panhandle beaches or Orange Beach, Al.
North - Natchez/Vicksburg, Natchez Trace trip.

Bay St. Louis. Plenty of nice hotels or houses to rent and enough things to do there and around the beach to take up a weekend.

Marriott Grand Hotel in Point Clear, AL. Great resort and the little town of Fairhope is close by with good restaurants and shopping.
For something closer/cheaper, you could stay at the Southern Hotel or a B&B in old town Covington and hang out around there. Someone on here made a good thread about that in here not long ago.
If you are interested in resorts in the beach towns that’s possible too, but going to be $$$ in most places anytime over the next 4 months.
