I know his numbers weren't good, and he was off target on a few passes, but I think with PT and him getting comfortable he will be good.

There are many positives I saw that I don't see in Lee.
He did not stare down his WR. He checked at least 2 reads and if nothing was there he took off. He's not sailing his passes, this is huge b/c if you Remeber JR would do the same thing and he became very acurate. A lot of Lee's picks have come from balls sailing. I'm not ready to crown him the starter, but I see some promise.

You have to understand, this was his first real PT and he was jittery and nervous as hell. I think with Playing time when he can get a little more comfortable, he will be good and will push for the job next year. I hope to see him get more meaningfull snaps in the next 2 games.

Even though I agree with this, I thought he still looked like a deer in headlights. Several of his passes were 10 yards from the nearest receiver. He looked horrible out there. I'm not saying that I could do better, I'm just saying I felt a lot more comfortable with Lee in the game after watching what Jefferson "can do".

I know now why Miles didn't feel right putting JJ into a game before unless it was to hand the ball off.

I agree. If we can bring him along a little more gradually, I think he'll do great. One thing people forget is that Lee got hurled into the thick of things being really green. It will either make him a strong, smart SOB or break him. That is a tough thing to do to a kid.

Agree, and if you're looking for some positives, and to be fair to Lee. Go watch the game replay and in the 4th quarter as Lee becomes more confident, he checks off not 2 but 3 receivers and hits the open one (LaFell) on a sideline route which was actually a pretty pass. He also throws 2 balls away instead of forcing them on 1st down, we end up scoring on both of those possessions.

This thread went wrong as soon as you tried to compare JJ to JR.

Hard to do when you tuck the ball and run as soon as you get the snap.
