I understand that things are the way they are, but IMO Peyton loses a lot of credibility in how he handled his exit. If he’d been straight forward from the get go all this would be fine, but he acted like he was retiring and thinking about commentating when it was obvious he wanted nothing to do with the 2022 Saints roster and wanted out without the ugliness of demanding out. Then it comes out he already had flirted with Miami and got them in trouble.
Just textbook being the bad guy without wanting to be the bad guy. It doesn’t work like that for me. Go up in the press conference and say you’re stepping down because you feel like the team has too much of a hill to climb, you don’t think we have adequate tools to succeed, you want to be with a top tier QB, etc. it’s not that complicated.
