Question for DC Metro riders

Metro Noob here. Last week when I exited the Metro at Crystal City, my card (app) wouldn’t scan. I looked down and the gate was open so I walked through. Now I keep getting notifications that my trip is still “in progress”. How do I fix this or will this prevent me from scanning in the next time I ride?

Even if the gate was open and the scanner wouldn’t accept my card (it did have money on it)? The other gates in my immediate vicinity were open and people were walking out.

You'll need to settle that trip with one of the workers at the kiosk in the station before your next trip - not a big deal, it happens regularly enough.

I no longer ride metro, but I guess metro just thinks you’re camping out in the trains at night.

You’ll have to stop in at one of the in person stations and have them clear it.
