PRAIRIEVILLE, La. (WAFB) - Plans are underway to open a new Mike Anderson’s restaurant in Prairieville, franchise owner Chip Robert says.

The popular seafood restaurant will operate at the former location of Sammy’s Grill, on Airline Highway near Old Jefferson Highway.

Robert said he plans to open the new location in July.

This will make the third Mike Anderson’s location.

Is Mike Anderson's worth the visit on a gameday?

It’s normally packed on the Friday of game weekends. Gameday, not so much.

I really hope not. TJ's just hasn't been successful in any spot other than the original.

They have a Mike Anderson's now hiring sign up, so if it fell apart it must have just fell apart.

TJs was successful for many years on Siegen. I think the downfall of the Siegen location was not so much because of TJs, but Siegen Ln. itself going downhill.

If TJ's brings in only half of their 1/2 menu items of the original one, like they did to the Prairieville location, it won't make it there either.

Went with a group of four to the soft opening last Saturday night. We had to choose among six entrees, and everyone had to choose something different.

The chicken was the best thing on the menu. Not saying anything else we had was bad, but the chicken was marinated extremely well.

Mahi-mahi was delicious.

Black drum was just OK.

Crawfish Etouffee was the average Baton Rouge etouffee dish.

I will say they did a nice job of remodeling the interior. The covered outside seating area will be a good game watching spot if the add a few more televisions.
