I've bought a couple thousand acres, camp, lake house, a few boats, numerous dogs and all kinds of other shite with 2 of my good friends. Never had a single issue. The key is everyone having the money to afford the upkeep on what you're purchasing.

Me and two of my life long best friends went in 1/3rds to buy a 22’ Blazer Bay back in 2016. Took us 3.5 years to pay it off, and we also started a separate bank account that we’d each put in $50/mo to create an “oh shite” nest egg. We’d use that account to pay for things that break, maintenance, and the occasional upgrade.
We all went in knowing what to expect from each other. If you’re on the boat without another owner and something breaks, it’s your responsibility type-of-thing. But also with the understanding that shite happens.
I couldn’t have had a better experience with our decision. Lots of people around us told us we were doomed and that the partnership would fall apart, but we had a great time.
Now the boat is paid off and we enjoy it even more!
