Since OP provided no context, I'm just going assume he's referring to the few hundred teens that descended on downtown over the weekend. Honestly, feel like this has happened about once each year since COVID. Not sure if previous years got as much coverage, but it was organized on social media and definitely not a great look after the mayoral election.

There are just a few people on this board that live here and can confidently answer what you're asking. I don't blame visitors for considering alternate travel plans, as the videos paint an unsettling image. Nothing about this is ideal, but take some comfort knowing most of what happened was south of Magnificent Mile. The Loop is not far, but didn't extend to where you are staying + north side neighborhoods were untouched / pretty far removed.

In my opinion, you'll be fine. Don't want to speak in absolutes, but I'm coming up on a decade in August of living here and, personally, have never feared for my safety.

That is the information I was looking for. I felt it was still a great place to visit, but my wife was feeling a little uneasy about it, so I reached out to the best place to find out info Tigerdroppings! Thanks again for the information.

Ive been here a little over 8 years and I don't think Ive even seen a fist fight in that time...

I live in the Ukrainian Village and work in the West Loop, so not out in the burbs...
