30,40,50,60 yard BOMBS.

that's what he needs to be doing.

he isn't good with the "reading the coverage in the middle" plays yet. He overthinks himself.

Play action fake, rollout... drop back...

AIR IT OUT! Let Lee pull the trigger to the deep passes. If it's picked off 50 yard down the field, hopefully someone can tackle him around that spot, and it's like a punt.

as bad as lee is right now at reading crossing patterns and those coverages, he has STRONG arm and can fling the ball.

I was the see him airing it out, and not the OC setting him up for failure.

it's like, "okay we really need the crossing pattern play out of the playbook"

Doc I have been preaching this all season..I trust our receivers and Jarrett's arm enough. The crossing patterns over the middle seem too hard for him to read.

plus one...

also, you have to think the deep passes would open up the run game.

you KNOW gary crowton likes to throw deep.

tim rattay and co. are examples.

Agreed.

Here's a link to a good article about the offensive scheme not fitting Lee's strengths.

we would have beat the hell out of bama if we kept airing it out to toliver. the receivers have been open down the field. let's put some pressure on the opposition and throw da bomb.

I thought they found a pretty good niche in the fourth quarter. Lee throwing screens and deep routes and putting Jefferson in to run the ball.

Voodoo. That link was dead on. Crowton has been pretty dismal this year with Lee. How many times exactly does your QB have to fail to read the dropping LB before you say, "hmm, maybe that aint where we need to go with this kid right now?

And, I really have never understood why we don't attack much outside the hash marks. Defenses can totally sell out pretty much to the middle of the field against LSU.

it worked well.

where's jefferson been all season?

he couldn't have done THAT in the bama game?

I like him in a red zone offense.

Didn't Miles FINALLY admit something to that effect in one of his post-game comments? I seem to recall reading that he said that the coaches need to turn Lee loose more and let him throw long. I sure as hell hope so.

Just as long as they are "out" patterns. He sucks over the middle!

Yup.

I felt like we didn’t show confidence in our quarterbacks, and we tried to hamstring them. We played really into our opponent’s strength. We told them we were going to run the football, and they loaded up the line.

They knew that we were going to handcuff our quarterbacks. They played the run hard and scored and put real pressure on us.
