Stop with the “let the kids have fun” crap. You have fun by playing good baseball and celebrating with your team mates. No one with a straight face can tell me kids 15 years ago weren’t having fun playing baseball. There were not stare downs and flexes after every strikeout and there weren’t bat flips and softball antics after every double.

We were talking shite 15 years ago. Our parents were talking shite 35 years ago. Their parents were talking shite 55 years ago.

You're acting like every single positive play results in a player telling his opponent to go frick himself.

If you make a big play in a big moment, you should be allowed to do whatever you want.

But since many college coaches have refused to address the issue, umps are now having to take control of the game so that we don’t have brawls every three innings.

What is with these hysterics Last time benches cleared in the box was under Skip, the greatest college baseball coach of all time, who encouraged his players to talk shite. Hell, Skip talked more shite than any of them.

What are you talking about? Just becuase you olds didn't have instant access to videos of every game above the high school level until 2010 doesn't mean this started in 2010. Taunting has been going on for 50 years. It's pathetic that 18 year old kids are being punished because 50 year olds complain about their "antics".

Pull up old games on YouTube. Show me where pitchers are waving batters back to the dugout on every strikeout. Show me where batters are posing after they cross home plate following a home run. Show me where pitchers have to look at the other dugout after ever completed inning of work.

It didn’t happen. Were there the occasional instances, sure. But this nonsense is now happening almost every inning of every single game.

Stop being clowns and always looking to taunt the other team. It’s trashy and unnecessary.

Yes, it pretty much does. Every single double some idiot has to dance at second base. Every home run a player has to perform for the instagram likes when they cross home plate. Every inning ending strikeout a pitcher is looking at the other player or dugout.

15 years ago this was the exception, not the norm.

Well old games they would just throw at peoples' heads and then have full team on team brawls. That's much better than players verbally talking shite to one another, right?

The point was those clips exist at a much lower rate because those games were televised at an infinitely lower rate. I remember watching an LSU player round third and point into the opposing teams dugout at the old box, resulting in the benches clearing. This shite has been going on forever.

It is objectively not.

You know how you kill a sport? You do what umpires are doing right now. Let athletes be athletes and talk all the shite they want.

Funny that both of those things fall under your protected "celebrate with your own team" rule. It's very clear, you don't want any emotion from the players.

Have you ever played a competitive sport? This is the stuff that makes sports fun. It's a game. You're not in a fricking business meeting. Express yourself and talk your shite.

You are the definition of an old man yelling at a cloud.

What game? Against who? Todd Walker pointed at the LSU fans in the crowd in Rosenblatf after hitting an 8th inning grand slam against Texas A&M in 1993 and it made it on all the LSU highlight videos so LSU players were copying that for quite a long time after, pointing at the fans in the crowd.

So who pointed in an opponents dugout and when did the bench clearing brawl happen?

All the "look at me" bs is front running garbage. All of that pussy shite is on CJJ because he allows it. Everyone has seen too much of this crap this year by lsu players. Of course all of the front running cry babies on here will downvote but idgaf. You have funny playing the "game" not talking shite or posing like a fricking girl after a homerun or staring the pitcher down because you got hit is coward shite. Nobody in a college game is going to intentionally bean you giving up a run in the process so wtf are you mad for? You wanna act like your on the WWE go ahead but your in the wrong sport.

Maybe it’s this kinda thought process that is in fact killing the sport? Don’t like it don’t watch. But this kind of thinking is killing the sport. God forbid these kids have fun while winning games.

Ah more drivel from you in a baseball thread. Not surprising. What are your thoughts on Skip Bertman personally insulting people, colleges, and entire cities in the 90s?

this is a weak excuse and not what is being talked about here. PM/Skip teams had exceptions but mostly did things with class because the "head coach" demanded it. Cant say the same about this team.

A) it’s the adults job to teach the kids how to handle themselves properly

B) no one has yet explained to me how kids of the past did not have fun playing baseball because they didn’t bat flip, and taunt the other team all series long

Maybe in the past it was taught as a “don’t do anything to inspire the other team.” I don’t know, but I recall Riley Cooper yelling at the A&M dugout after getting out of a 7th inning jam and then promptly returning for the 8th inning and fail to record an out while A&M came back and won the game.

Skip talked more shite than anyone…. You said it yourself. And if I remember correctly y’all wanted PM out for years because he didn’t recruit like y’all wanted him to. Well CJJ can recruit. And he recruits guys with some attitude. Pick your poison because you can’t have it both ways.

No. I enjoyed it. You're proving my point. People have been talking shite forever. You just see it more now because you see everything more now.

you gonna have to wait for that one. They will never admit it or find the obvious because thats basically says they are wrong also ...thats what left wings do.

Of course beating people on the scoreboard isnt good enough. You gotta act out too! You didnt know? but i got picked on when i was younger!

Baseball has been on a steady decline for the last 15 years. It can be a boring and brutal game. Stuff like this makes it fun and should be celebrated, not forbidden.

And you know what A&m could do after that? Talk shite to him, because he failed to record an out. That's how this stuff works.

2019 LSU football did nothing but inspire the other team. 1990s LSU baseball (led by their head coach) "inspired the other team." Hmm didn't seem to change things. I wonder why?

Give me a break. He allows them to have fun. If you honestly think he is instructing them to go out there and be rude and disrespectful, you’re kidding yourself.

Jones hit a home run and talked some trash. I’d venture to say that Jay spoke to him about it afterwards in the dugout. Jones is an 18 year old kid and emotions get to players. Just like the Florida pitcher this thread is based on. As much as I detest Florida, that kid shouldn’t have been tossed.

The ump was wrong.

incorrect. Telling jokes isnt proving anything. my lord.

Have you ever seen Skip talk shite, show boat or dance to an opponent on the field? Have you seen his teams consistently do this? Nope. If you know Skip then you would know your arse was going to the bench for some cry baby shite like these guys do today.
