Not victim blaming but why did dude even open the door? Also I wonder if backup went to the correct address to find no one there.

This why I’m grateful to have my Ring camera. Our nextdoor neighbors are some folks in their 20-30s that regularly have folks over on the weekends. One of their guests a couple weekends ago came to our door instead of theirs. We came downstairs, armed, (it was 4:00 am-ish) but checked the Ring and was able to tell them over the Ring they had the wrong house.
If it wasn’t for the camera, we probably would’ve opened the door to look out when the knocking stopped.
It’s also worth noting that they were likely hard to see given they’re wearing all black once they backed away from the porch light.
