You have to keep cages clean and run HEPA air filters 24/7 otherwise it can get smelly. I put an air filtration system built for a 1000 sq ft room in their 400 sq ft room. It works. No smell and it's good for the birds because their lungs are very sensitive and filthy air can kill them.

I rescued an African Grey about 15 years ago. Easy to care for, never gets sick, speaks fluently when he feels like it. Has actually called my dogs in my voice. Super super smart. He’ll throw a temper tantrum every now and then if I give myvborder collies too much attention over him. I let him out of the cage occasionally to let him explore but never have problems returning him to his castle. Gets along well with both borders, which i initially was concerned about. All in all great addition to the household
