All I know is birds that are constantly loud are annoying as frick. I dated a girl whose parents had birds and they all sucked. And their house smelled terrible all the time (but they also had other pets and were extremely messy people).

You have to keep cages clean and run HEPA air filters 24/7 otherwise it can get smelly. I put an air filtration system built for a 1000 sq ft room in their 400 sq ft room. It works. No smell and it's good for the birds because their lungs are very sensitive and filthy air can kill them.
