Might be hard to prove Watergate, but I know it happened after Richard Nixon sat in the Oval Office with the CIA Director, in a recorded session, and told him he knew what happened to JFK.
But the fact the break-in and reporting all had ties to the Intelligence apparatus are just coincidence I'm sure.

If this is true, why didn't Nixon blackmail them into backing off of the Watergate investigation? Why didn't he go on the evening news and tell all? Your theory requires us to believe that, while Watergate was going on, Nixon held a metaphorical atom bomb and simply chose not to use it.
