I don’t think this is accurate any longer.
I’m doing a home reno and everything is coming out more expensive than we thought. We’re a good 30-40% over budget (granted a lot of that was correcting uncovered issues). We’d still be well over 10% above budget even without the repairs.
I’ve two friends who are doing new builds and for months, we’ve all found solace in our own overages by knowing it’s affecting everyone…unless you’re able to do it yourself.
