I definitely get that and that's not really an oddball take. The crazy Christian story is definitely played out and is a Hollywood punching bag pretty often. I'm a Christian as well and throughout the episode I was laughing but also thinking man this is so backwards/messed up.

I felt like there was some pretty redeeming aspects though with the mom and Gata. The mom was the only person there that was actually able to give him some comfort and it was because of her beliefs. If someone watches that and doesn't take that depiction of Mississippi with a grain of salt then they are probably out of touch with reality anyway.
