Maybe I'm overthinking it. I'm sure I probably am. I guess just in today's modern culture of 2023 it seems there is a constant attack on normal, everyday, white, Christian, conservative, America-loving folks and this episode just kind of perpetuated that. How many people watching this show coast to coast have ever spent more than 24 hours in Mississippi? Probably not many, but now that's how they view the south.

The episode maybe Dave seem like an absolute dick. The rest of the crew was telling him about trying to keep his cool and he absolutely couldn't. Even after his antics the mother still showed compassion. The big girl summed it up in her last convo with Dave that she was happy and didn't need him saving her, which is what the NE liberal types always feel they have to do.
