Imagine being a professional lifter and a biological male and thinking it’s a flex to bench 270 lbs.

I know of at least five dudes off hand including myself at my local gym alone that could beat that as regular people who have just gone to the gym regularly for years. Probably not in a competition setting without practice, but still the point remains.

You know, since everyone here is 6'4", 260 with 8% body fat, makes over 200K per year, has a ten for a wife, and is on-par with Chuck Norris in Martial Arts.

You don’t think there are lots of guys who can do 270+?

I couldn’t but I’m sure there many just normal guys who can.

The vast majority of guys will never bench something like 405 but 270 is within reach. For a non-competitive gym goer it’s still a good lift but it’s not insanely impressive especially for a male competitive powerlifter. That’s the point. Any decent sized gym you can find will likely have at least a few guys that can bench at least that much.

In 1983 we had 4 guys on a single A football team that benched 315 or better. There were 35 guys on the team. No one weighed more than 220 lbs. This in the days of one cup of water in a 3 hour practice, salt pills, and stretching was an excuse to be standing in one place so that you were easier to be dog cussed by a coach. Our weight room was an un-airconditioned metal prefab building with two benches. We measured our "max" one afternoon in the middle of August two-a-days.

A 270 lb bench press is not exactly the 4 minute mile.

That said, my 55 yr old arse would risk ripping my dick open trying to bench 135 right now.
