Reagan's time was a totally different animal; the Dems of today would have put Reagan behind bars for the 'Sandinista' thing. Who knows how tough and ruthless Reagan would have become if the Fascist Dems who now own the Judiciary, Deep State, MSM and half the populous had faced him down.

True

Reagan was a master communicator. He was smooth and polished. That came from his background. Trump is a brawler and brash. One mindful of the way he delivered his message, and the other like a sledge hammer.

We absolutely needed both for their times.

People keep claiming Trump is Chaos, and although some truth to that, most of the moniker derived from the way the media covered Trump. They absolutely propagandized that Trump meant chaos, and monarchy.

The dems were relentless in their attacks upon Trump, and even the GOPe who went against the voters because they think they know what's best for us.

The left and media were extremely successful in their branding of Trump. You can see it today with the ones who were Trump voters and now only see Desantis as their guy, and I like Desantis and can vote for him, but those attacking Trump to gain more support for Desantis have been successfully mind fricked by the left and their propaganda media arm.

The left and the media will do the same no matter who we vote in for the GOP nomination. The only difference will be if the GOPe apparatus, which is so closely tied in with the left, supports them or not.

The Paul Ryans and McConnels of the GOPe are the ones who should receive the heaviest of scorn from us voters. They fricked us over when we overwhelmingly voted Trump in, and they left him out to dry. They are the true traitors to our Republic. The Dems have been on a path to fundamentally changing America for decades. We knew they were enemies to the Republic, but the GOPe were exposed greatly under Trump.

Trump may have not cleaned up the swamp, but he turned the light on, and you can see many of the creatures that lurk there.

Reagan had a commandment that he lived by: Do not speak ill of another Republican. Mainly because he was always riding high in the polls in 1980. The fight was always for second place.

What I have never gotten is the vitriolic white hot hate for Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell. Ryan was a weak Speaker and probably in over his head no matter who was President. But like Boehner, he constantly had to deal with guys who went further right than what he was used to. But, in the beginning he got Trump's initial agenda passed.

McConnell had always been on Trumo's side while he had the power and even after as he dealt with a 50/50 Senate. He had to make deals to peel off a Democrat or two because he had Biden as the tie breaker. But he got Trump EVERYTHING he wanted....EVERYTHING until Jan. 6 and even then he made sure that there were enough votes to thwart a conviction.

From 2018 on McConnell suffered from the fact that he was no longer majority leader and therefore had to use parliamentary procedure to muddle things.....but he still got Trump Amy Coney Barrett. Instead of vilifying the Turtle he should thank God he had a guy who knew politics and how to play the game by the rules in place.

Reagan would have a tougher time in this environment. The Dems of today are monsters and I believe Reagan would be frustrated with them and I believe you would see him become more aggressive but not on the level of Trump.
