I'm not a lawyer, but I assume the judge can use this during sentencing, and I assume his lack of remorse will affect future chances at parole.

He just body-slammed any hope for any sort of plea. Regardless of whether he's "goin' for it" or not, the doubling down on lack of remorse while sitting in jail is likely to add significantly to his sentence.
