Desantis and any other republican would need Trump’s base to win the GE. If someone else besides Trump is nominated, some portion of Trump’s base will stay home, and it would be a determinative number, even in the unlikely event that democrats in urban shitholes don’t stuff ballot boxes with fake mail in ballots.

What are Ron’s plans to counteract ballot harvesting and mail in ballots (cough, voter fraud) in Philadelphia, for example? What is his strategy to win over hardcore Trump supporters in the rust belt?

Do you honestly think Desantis isn’t going to be a Nazi if he runs? This line about him being Trump without the baggage is a fantasy. Mitt Romney was “electable” and didn’t have baggage.
