Pokemon people: asking for assistance (not game related)

My sons are both really into Pokemon and both will turn 10 in the next year, which I understand in the Pokemon universe is when you can star becoming a trainer. My wife and I would love to be able to find a Pokemon Trainer event for kids on like a Saturday somewhere (doesn't matter where as long as it's in country), ideally we could fly in on a Friday, event on a Saturday, come home that Sunday. I've been doing some searching and either the stuff I find that looks pretty good is at the wrong time of year (we're looking into early 2024 since they'll both be 10 then) or it looks like some local library pokemon event that lasts maybe 2 hours with crappy crafts and a pizza lunch and it's in the middle of Illinois or something. Found a TON of Pokemon Go events but I'm not into them chasing virtual Pokemon on a phone all weekend.
What's the best way to find these events, or is there one? Is there a specific organization that does these types of things well? I've tried all kinds of search parameters and I feel like I'm flying blind. Any help would be appreciated.
TIA

Dude I went to high school with just went to some type of regional event in Orlando last month called VGC
Don't know if it's exactly the type of event you're looking for (possibly some type of competition) but from the pictures it seems like it's in the ballpark

I'll look it up, just up the road.
Not sure what exactly I have in mind. Maybe something where they get an Ash hat, throw pokeballs at something......no idea
I'm sure there are all kinds of different events out there, just need to find what I think they'll be in to. One of my sons loves his cards and seems interested in learning how to play the game, and I've seen things where they teach kids how to play. But my other son would lose interest in that quickly. He would rather run around and do something.

So you're trying to find Pokemon larping?
Pokemon events (regionals, IC's, etc) have TCG, VGC, and Pokemon go comps running simultaneously, with a nice big portion of kids competitions. I know it's not exactly what you're looking for, but you'll have good vendors, side events for Pokemon Go, TCG and VGC they can play in, and just get to hang out with other kids that love Pokemon too

sounds like a winning time for them
yeah, i think that if at some point they can run around and pretend they are catching pokemon or "train" to be a pokemon trainer, they would think that's the best
honestly, one of my sons just wants to finally fly on a plane, so that would probably make the trip for him right there

So the biggest even in NA is usually the weekend of 4th of July, so looks like that's out of the question.
These were the 3 regional events that have happened so far this year. Usually they try to keep locations the same time of the year every year
