Reading between the lines....
Robbers robbed him, went through his truck, stole his wallet, keys, gun, but not the truck. Locked the truck. Left.
He posted in the OP while waiting 1.5hrs and the cops not being there.
Cops arrived 6 minutes after the thread was posted, and left, per his post.
While there the cops towed his car(?) from a legal towing spot, because it had been there too long. (Tow yard on Claiborne, we assume). Or he had other keys and moved his truck (not car) to Claiborne, because...
The cops then went to Claiborne and fingerprinted the truck, not at the crime scene, where they already were.
Fwiw, from experience, NOPD has no problem collecting prints while onsite. They never followup, but they will collect whatever prints you want them to.
