Because in today's world, social media is king and so everything has to be about "content" and "influencing." Like it's legit careers for people, and there is lots of money to be made. Which of course means that more and more people will do it, which means more and more trying to be unique/original, which leads to more bullshite and lies, and nothing is organic and "real" anymore.

It's a sad cycle, but it's where we are (or at least a large portion of the population is) these days. Almost every single video I see these days is either very obviously fake/staged, or has the feel to it where it seems like it's fake. And odds are, it is...but as long as it's generating clicks, then that's the endgame.
