Mississippi governor signs legislation restricting electric car stores
Unfortunately this is a trend in Red States. If Tesla wants to sell their cars directly, so be it. This is just more mafia-style protection for car dealerships.
Quote from a dissenting voter:
"In today’s world, if you don’t innovate, you lose out. We as a state cannot afford to lose out," Sen. Brice Wiggins told The Associated Press on Tuesday. "My vote against the bill was a vote for capitalism, competition and innovation rather than for a policy of protectionism."
The bill passed in a bipartisan 39-13 vote earlier this month, with some in the party hoping Reeves would veto the legislation.

I don't think government should restrict selling anything (except drugs possibly)
And I don't think they should mandate anything either.
Let free market decide

Old Boy Networks will always be a part of politics in the south, and they’ll always hold the south back.

The Dealership Lobby is stacked. One of the strongest lobbies in Texas.

The latest shenanigans dealers have pulled lately were the last straw. Ford is even considering selling directly to consumers.
It makes no sense. You can buy just about anything direct from a manufacturer today. Except a car.

Muh Free Market conservatives deserve to be bullied out of politics.
It's time to put big business and big finance under the boot of the people. No more gays and outsourcing.
