Overall best variety for our area is Big Beef and it's not even close. Very disease resistant, heavy producer and delicious tomatoes. After many years of experimenting and talking to local growers Big Beef is my favorite by far. They also have a Big Beef Plus out this year that is even more disease resistant but I haven't been able to locate any yet. They also have a Better Boy Plus and a Celebrity Plus out this year. Big Beef is highly recommended by LSU Ag Center for this area. You won't be disappointed. It's a indeterminate plant so it grows very tall and continues to produce all season.
