I have been hearing that Louisiana is still discussing what the tax deduction for year 2023 will be for putting in a qualified energy efficient air conditioner in your home. Does anyone have any information on this? Someone that I know that runs an AC business stated that it could be up to $8000 but was unsure. I am having trouble finding anything out about this and I have a few emails sent out to my state reps but have not heard back yet.

I believe 2022 was the last year to have most energy efficient home installation products provide tax credits. I could be wrong. Buddy of mine just got energy efficient windows installed two weeks ago and asked the installer, they told him it had to be 2022. Not sure if that applied to windows only.

You can get like $300 or so federal credit but I think it has to be at least a 16 SEER unit.

Not a chance fed or state allows $8,000 for an HVAC.
