The story of Lynyrd Skynyrd is the epitome of the American dream. A group of average kids growing up in the same town that get together and become one of the greatest bands ever.

They weren’t professionals, they didn’t know what they were doing, but they figured it out on their own. They didn’t grow up in a studio or by tik tok. They grew up playing baseball, fishing, working, etc.

It’s sad to think stories like that will never happen again. Now kids get professional training from the time they are 4, they get discovered from a tv show, every part of their life and career is structured.

Well damn, just damn it. Saw them on their return concert at the PMAC and stayed sober so that I could enjoy the music. RIP Gary Rossington and I hope they put that slide on your finger so you could take it with you.

I mentioned the concert at the Cajundome.

There was a guy on the side of me with Confederate shirt. He had tickets for Baton Rouge that fateful night.

He happened to check ticket availability a couple of hours before show time. They had released front row tickets and was blown away., feet away from Rossington.

This one hurts.

RIP to Gary and long-live the greatest southern rock band to ever grace this realm.

The band is about to have their first gig since October 19 in 77. I bet it’s a hell of a show.
