Even the dealerships are struggling to get guys to change oil.

One of the local dealerships here is trying to hire quick lube guys for $17/hour when you can get $21 at McDonalds or $26 for general construction labor.

Our local McD just started pushing $11.

Saw an ad awhile back for a welding job. Wanted someone with 2-3 years experience welding TIG, MIG, and aluminum. Starting pay $18/hr

Changing oil on a hot car OVER AND OVER AND OVER all day long is worth way more than $17/hr.

I know jobs where you sit on your arse in the A/C with ZERO skills that pay that much or better.
