I'm taking my 3 year old son to TS for the first time this weekend. This will be his first trip and I am FREAKING PUMPED!!

His Mom (my wife) is an Ole Miss fan (he's been to Oxford once....blaaahhh) and she is boiling inside knowing that when he sees Mike the Tiger up close there will be NO TURNING BACK!!!

Anyway, other than Mike and just walking around, tailgating in general, are there any other "must do's" on campus for a 3 year old on game day?

Thanks in advance and let's hope the tigers WIN OUT!

plan on leaving at the half....I took my son to a State game when he was 3 or 4 and he loved Mike and Pre-game but couldn't hang past the half.

Luckily we were up 32-3 at the time....

fwiw, I hear the cops hand out lots of MIPs around the Union, so tell him to be careful.

+1

One of my first memories of LSU. Too bad can't get into sewer tunnels under Quad anymore. That's a childhood dream in itself. No kidding.

Keep him away from the drunks!!!

Wait...thats impossible!

Take him to the Union for lunch (if you dont want to tailgate) and buy him something cool at the bookstore.
If you have a ball, go out to the parade grounds and toss it around for a while. Simple cheap fun!

Also, theres a building behind PMAC where they stage Mike the Tiger's cage before the games. This is before he comes down the hill with the band. Cant think of the name of the street or building but we were able to walk right up to his cage and take pics. My head was about 1 foot away from his!!!!!!! Totally awesome...had never been that close to his cage before...lots of little kids around for this were freakin out and lovin it!!!!

1. cardboard box down the indian mounds
2. stop at the dairy store for ice cream
3. watch the team and Tiger Band come down Victory Hill before the game

dress him warmly. High saturday should be around 63 and the low Sunday morning of 35. That prolly means 57 at kickoff and mid 40's by game end.

might be a little young to enjoy but, you may want to try to get to the greek theatre before the march to show him the drumline warm up. this is my favorite part of the gameday experience.

you won't be so pumped when the kid starts whinnng and wanting to leave after the band plays.... better yet if you can coerce hinm in to staying later the game might be close and youll be really pissed when you have to leave before its over..

dude speaking from experience myself and many others I know. Hopefully with Troy, it wont be a problem for you. NEVER take small kids to big games.

Do the sororities still decorate their houses for homecoming? If so, that can be fun for a kid. At the same time, steer clear of the DKE house. could be traumatic for a youngster.

Gonna be cold. Bundle him up. Gethim a lemonade at one of those stands outside the north end of the Stadium . There's enough sugar in them to keep 10 kids awake for at least 3 hours. But then he's gonna crash something fierce.

Bring him his own little tiny urine bomb to throw at the opponent.

Be on the lookout for Mike the Tiger (not the real one, or this would make for a grisly photo op), get your kid to meet him and take a picture with him. I think that would be a cool little momento for a kid.
