That’s the problem is they aren’t increasing fighter pay. Has your head been in the sand?
Why are you spreading lies? You know damn well fighter pay has increased big time. Who is paying lower tier fighters more than the ufc?
Ngannou made a huge mistake and is a dumbass rrying to represent himself. Despite that the ufc was gonna overpay him and he turned it down thinking he was some big draw. Lets see how that plays out for him.
As for Nickal, the dude is coming off of the contender series and is being built up. What are you expecting him to get paid? He wins a couple of more fights and will be getting 6-7 figures and will be made into a star assuming he keeps winning. How many people heard of the name bo nickal before the fight the other night? Very fricking few besides the 3 wrestling fans and hardcore ufc fans.
I like the ufc model. Everybody wants to get paid more but it is hard enough to get these guys to fight. You pretty much made the point already the ones that are highly paid sit out to get more money. Imagine what would happen if the lower to mid toer fighters started making way more than they make now. Not only that but what other combat sport pays more??

facts.
and so many people are so damn clueless when it comes to "fighter pay"
just because you saw it on Twitter doesn't mean it is true..... the fact is that Francis is, and has never been a financial draw. he has never drawn more than 200,000-400,000 PPV buys as a main eventer ... yet the UFC offered him around $3M per fight, but he wants $30M per fight.... good luck to any dumb-arse promotion who gives him that.

Pardon me.. I stand corrected. This must be the big time increases you’re talking about. No wonder they got Jones to finally come back.

Champions will now get $42,000 per bout in fight week incentive pay, compared to $40,000 under Reebok. Title challengers will get $32,000, compared to the old rate of $30,000.
This was from the UFC-Venum deal.. I believe this was one of the few things Ngannou was pushing for as well-for athletes to make their own sponsorship deals.
