I think we should drop the VA completely.
Bid out insurance from all the big private insurance companies and provide that instead. You could get a killer price for all vets and it would be much better care.
That would help a ton.

This is happening but no the way you may think.
Some departments are just too expensive for a general hospital footprint. Like Oncology/cancer treatment. Most VAs send the vet the private sector route for specialty stuff. Plus they cant keep staff the private sector pay is way better.
