Some of the west coast ramen (menya ultra in SD) makes me really consider saying ramen > pho.

As others has commented, in Louisiana and certainly New Orleans there is some very good pho and a lot of variety. Union Ramen is good, but it's just one place. But when I go to a place like L.A., it is ramen hands down. There is one block in L.A. that has 4 ramen shops, all much cheaper than Union and all amazing with different styles to each.
