Certainly something with some numbers behind it. I too think increased stress and more sedentary lifestyles along with increased vasculitis which is a hallmark of the disease. I also think more drugs are being used which doesn't help either.

We are also possibly catching more "minor" heart attacks. My father apparently had a heart attack a few years ago and didn't realize until a stress test last year showed an abnormal ECG which let to further testing which showed his heart had already dealt with it on its own. Oh, just saw the 'deaths" part in the title.

Also, people state the increase in heart attacks in younger- what is the percentage increase in obesity in that age group?

One other thing, the US medical care system has been jammed up leading to longer waits and likely poorer care which could certainly mean increased deaths as well.
