I worked for C&NW railroad for ten years, the freight being hauled was mainly agricultural products, grain, fertilizer, tankers full of sweeteners like molasses......during the 70's-80's when I worked for C&NW we had derailments quite frequently, they didn't get much attention because the the bulk of the freight was non hazardous.
