Hey all. I am travelling to Milwaukee for a wedding in mid-March and we planned to stop in Chicago for a day or so on the way or on the way back. It would be me, my wife, and two kids - 4yo girl and 2yo boy. Any suggestions on fun things to do?

Enjoy MKE! Honestly, it's an underrated city - so many bars/taverns. They've done a fantastic job revitalizing many neighborhoods over the years (i.e. Lower East Side, Third Wards, Bay View).

Anyway, for Chicago... my recommendations may not be fantastic since my wife and I are without kids (still on the younger side and still a discussion ), but I suppose the easiest options for a day would be Navy Pier, Lincoln Park Zoo, Shedd Aquariam, Maggie Daley Park, Architecture Boat Tour, and walking the River Walk and/or Lakeshore path. Others with kids might be of more help.

2 and 4 may be too young, but the Field Museum is always a good activity with kids.

Shedd aquarium is great for kids. Check out the Blackhawks and Bulls schedules too. Do you know the exact dates yet? You could time it up for when the river will be green for St Patricks day.

Museum of Science and Industry is so much better than the Field.

It can be cold as hell in March, so keep that in mind.

I have been there with my kids close to that age. With only 1 day I'd definitely skip Navy Pier and probably the museums.

I'd do these:
Sears tower or john hancock
Michigan Ave
Bean/ Millenium Park (could be cold as shite so may be quick)
Archetechural Boat Tour (if weather is decent)

The wind off the lake is absolutely brutal. So even if its a warm day if its an east wind dress WARM.

Yeah just walking the Mag Mile area + Bean + by the Lake etc.... can be easy with those ages.

They have an American Girl Doll down Mag Mile your daughter would enjoy.

Obv hit a pizza joint and your day will be full.

Don't feel like you can't ride the train. Hopefully yall get great weather!
