Lake Charles Bowfishing

Anyone have a connection for Bowfishing in Lake Charles? My buddy used to know someone out there but he doesn’t run it anymore. From some quick google searches, it doesn’t look like Bowfishing is too big in LC. If anyone knows of a charter, please let me know. TIA

Our water in SW Louisiana is too muddy most of the year to Bow Hunt. It would be very hard to Bow hunt when you can only see a few inches below the surface and then you have to determine what kind of fish you see and is it legal size to shoot.

There is a reason there are about 100 people that are Guides in the Big lake area ..... and none of them do bow hunting charters.

Yea I fish there a lot not very often you can sight cast fish. Summer months will get nice and green or a long drought it will get clear. This past fall it was beautiful until rain started.

After living there for 5 years, I definitely believe that bowfishing could be offered over there. Fly fished many many times where water clarity was beautiful. In fact it was some of the healthiest marsh I have seen in a long time.
That being said, I do understand the reasoning for not wanting bow fishing over there. There are lots of arguments on how it hurts habitat, population, etc. Most are very legitimate.
On the other hand...my impression of LC was thus: "If you aint from round here, then you need to stay out!"

The next time you come over to Lake Charles, you are invited to be my guest on a fishing trip so I can show you not everyone is trying to keep "OUT SIDERS" away from fishing Big Lake.

No offense, but I hope it stays like that. Bowfishing has really put a hurt on the leesville/grand isle area
