Let me very specifically answer your question. I was not trying to match the wall. I didn't give the color much thought, except we have a grey home. I grabbed a swatch, without much thought. My husband took a little longer and picked the color. It was never meant to match, only to blend.

I grew up in an old house in N. BTR, and the former owners had put beautiful dressers in the attic, so they would be flush with the bedroom wall. Painted them white. My mom took them out and re-finished them. They were beautiful.

What we salvaged was not a pretty piece of furniture, if it merely useful.

Those all grey home interiors are very trendy but I hate them.

Probably contributes to a higher depression and suicide rate.
